CACTUS PEAR
An Introduction
Those of us who have had
the privilege of tasting the sweetness of the internal
flesh of a cactus pear know all too well the delicate
procedure involved in unveiling that delicacy. Recovering
Stolen Dreams unveils the sweetness of life upon removal
of the encrusted and prickly hardened shell accumulated
over years of childhood abuse. This is a story woven
by threads of poetry to describe many emotions. The
emotions are the by-product of an adulthood realization
of an abusive childhood. It describes the emotions experienced
while touching the deepest and most painful memories
in order to release the anger, confusion and darkness
that accompanies loneliness and helplessness.
It also describes the
joyous realizations of pleasure. Pleasure is derived
from the power to seek understanding and self-forgiveness.
It describes the courageous path of healing and the
rewards to be reaped from embarking on such a journey.
The emotions are expressed
with such words of intensity that only true emotions
could orchestrate. On display for the reader in the
finale is a showcase that houses an iridescent sphere
of love that sparkles with the brilliant hues of a symphony
performed in the heart of spirit. As the prickly cactus
bears the sweetest fruit, the healed child makes cream
puffs of dream stuffs.
